The Nation Prospère and Société Héritage Saint-Bernard charities have accepted the responsibility of becoming the owner and directing the project to save the former
St. Bernard’s Church in Nova Scotia. Héritage Saint-Bernard was founded in 2001 to raise funds to maintain this historic building as a community and cultural center. It was granted
charitable status in 2018.

Nation Prospère Acadie was established in 2018 to play a leading role in the protection of Acadian heritage in Atlantic Canada. In 2022, its Acadian Heritage Advisory Committee
had in fact designated the St. Bernard’s and St. Mary’s churches in St. Mary’s Bay as places of national significance to the Acadian people.
